General Information

Each participant shall be responsible for organising his/her own insurance.

Each rider shall be solely responsible for participating in the race and does so at his/her own risk.

The organiser shall accept NO responsibility in case of damages or of theft.

Athletes taking part in the Swiss Triathlon Circuit must hold an annual or daily StartPASS (CHF 32.50 for the Olympic distance when you register online and CHF 40.- when you register on site the day of the event).

The sale of daily StartPASS and checking of annual StartPASS shall only be in the tent designated for that purpose, on Sunday, 6th September from 9 a.m. until one hour before the start of the race.

Athletes who ordered their daily StartPASS on the DataSport site, must present proof of payment to the referees, otherwise they will have to pay the sum of CHF 40.- again.

PLEASE COLLECT / PRESENT YOUR StartPASS TO THE REFERES BEFORE PICKING UP YOUR RACE NUMBER BIB.

On Yverdon-les-Bains beach, in the designated tent on Saturday, 6th September between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Sunday, 6th September from 6.30 a.m. until one hour before the start of each race.

The bibs will be distributed in numerical order. Thank you for having your number available (to be found on the DataSport site or at the entrance of the tent).

On-site registration is possible but limited to the number of bibs available and until one hour prior to the departure of each race

! ATTENTION !
For the Swiss Triathlon Circuit over the Olympic distance, collection of bibs is only possible on Sunday from 9 a.m. (upon presentation of a valid licence to the referees).

7.2 Equipement, letter b

(ii) For races without drafting and age-group races with drafting.

  • The frame must not measure more than 1.85 metres in length and fifty (50) centimetres in width
  • The distance between the ground and the centre of the bottom bracket spindle must range between 24 and 30 centimetres
  • The vertical line touching the saddle nose shall be no more than 5 centimetres in front of and 15 centimetres behind the vertical line passing through the centre of the bottom bracket spindle. During the competition, the athlete must not be able to adjust the saddle beyond these limits
  • The distance between the verticals passing through the bottom bracket spindle and the front wheel axle shall be a minimum of 54 centimetres and of a maximum of 65 centimetres
  • Fairings that reduce air resistance, are prohibited
  • Disk brakes are permitted for age group races
  • The frame of the bicycle must be of classical style, i.e. built around a principal triangle composed of three straight or stretched tubular elements of round, oval, flattened or “tear-drop” shape or the like. Diamond shape frames (not saddle tube) or with a rear triangle not linked to the main triangle are acceptable
  • Bicycles or equipment that are not of classical type are illegal, unless prior approval has been granted by the Technical Delegation before the beginning of the competition
  • Self-adhesive numbers provided by the organiser must be placed on the bicycle according to the instruction received and without modification
  • Bicycles with a self-adhesive UCI Time Trial (TT code) approval sticker shall always be permitted for races without drafting, even if the aforementioned points are not respected.

c.) Wheels

(vi) For age group races with drafting, the wheels must have the following features :

  • Wheels must have at least 12 spokes
  • Disc wheels are prohibited.

d.) Handlebars

(i) For races with drafting, the following rules apply with regard to handlebars :

  • Only classical race handlebars are permitted. The handlebars must have grips
  • Certified extenders are permitted provided that their length does not exceed the line created by the foremost points of the brake levers
  • No clearance is permitted between the left and right bars at the end of the extenders
  • Straight' extensions must be bridged with a solid standard device connecting the two parts at the most extreme points or touching each other at the end
  • The brake levers must be fitted to the handlebar and not to the extensions and must not point forward
  • No gear-shift or brake lever may be fitted to the extensions
  • The difference between the height of the highest point of the extensions and the lowest part of the arm supports must not exceed 10cm
  • Bottles and bottle-holders may not be fitted to the extensions.

Please consult the full set of rules in case of any doubt. Only these are legally binding!

Only for the Olympic distance circuit of 1.5km.

After having passed the half-way mark, participants must leave the water for about 20 metres on the small beach before continuing the swim towards the main beach.

Slipstreaming behind another athlete.

This is only permitted on the Sprint Distance (National League) of 15km and the Olympic distance circuit of 37.5km.

Assured by DataSport by means of a small chip to be worn around the ankle and given to each participant at the same time as the bib.

The chip must be returned after crossing the finishing line.

In the case of loss or non-return, the participant will be charged CHF 50 + VAT.

Cloakrooms are available for the participants at the Yverdon-les-Bains skating rink, Allée de Winterthour.

Two small tents areavailable to participants near the bib delivery tent for changing. These tents do not have a shower and are not supervised.

Wearing a neoprene body swimming suits is permitted for short distance races, youngsters and schoolchildren.

The triathletes taking part in the Swiss Triathlon Circuit must refer to the Swiss Triathlon rules and regulation
(see preceding point "Rules for the Swiss Circuit").

Please comply with on-site signage, as well as the instructions issued by the Police.

However, if you arrive via the motorway, we suggest taking the Yverdon Ouest exit and parking your car at the Hippodrome car park.

Beach of Yverdon-les-Bains. Athletes will be at the start of the swim 5 minutes before the start of their category.

Rankings will be compiled by DataSport.

These will be displayed in the arrival area shortly after the end of each race, as well as on the website www.datasport.com.

Each participant will receive a souvenir award and the first three participants to finish in each category will receive a special prize. The first three participants to finish 10-15 categories will receive a medal as well.

The first three participants to finish in each category must appear at the podium 10 minutes prior to their medal presentation ceremony.

The ceremony schedule is as follows:

  • TRI Circuit Team (short distance): 10.00 am
  • Swiss championships National League: 12.00 pm
  • TRI Circuit Competition (Olympic dist.): 2.30 pm
  • TRI Circuit School 10-15: 5.15 pm
  • CS Team Sprint 14-19: 5.15 pm

On the running circuit and at the finish.

In the arrival area by the Thernat institute, Yverdon-les-Bains.

Please feel free to come to Yverdon-les-Bains by train or via carpool.

In the case of force majeure, a climatic event, natural disaster, flooding, epidemic, viruses or any other circumstances, the organiser reserves the right to cancel the race. No refund or deferment of fees will be possible. No claim by any participant will be taken into consideration.

The organiser reserves the right to communicate to DataSport the data (name, first name and e-mail address only) of participants aged 16 and above who registered at the previous event for the following event and to the organisers of the Triathlons in Lausanne, Nyon and Geneva, for promotional purposes only (newsletter and/or electronic mailing) for their respective events. Participants not in agreement with this, must inform the organiser in writing as soon as possible.

Photograph or video images taken during the event may appear in print media, promotional material and on the organiser’s internet site, as well as in support material from our partners for promotional purposes. Participants not in agreement with this, must inform the organiser in writing 10 days before the event at the latest.
